Fancy dress competition, Morville village hall, mid 1930’s

The Morville memories collection is an accumulation of local people’s memories, photos and newspaper cuttings, which have been donated to the display to be shared and enjoyed by others. The display which is located at the west end of the Morville Church has been put together and maintained by a Morville resident, Jane Gregory. It covers over 150 years of Morville history including Morville school photos going back to the early 1900’s and information about both Morville and Aldenham Halls and their inhabitants.

The items on display come from many different people and places. Shropshire archives at Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth Library have been the source pf d newspapers and reference books. Facebook has some great sites, memories of Shropshire, Bridgnorth Past, Broseley Past to name a few. Jane has visited other local villages and Churches to get advice and see how they exhibit their memories.

It is the local people who have been the biggest asset to this community collection of memories, giving up family photos and stories, thank you for all your support. The display may be viewed at any time when the Church is open.
