Welcome to Morville Festival 2017
Sunday 30th April and Mayday Monday 1st May 2017

Morville is a beautiful village, just outside Bridgnorth on the edge of the Corvedale in rural Shropshire. Morville and the surrounding villages every year invite you to their May Festival Weekend, a quintessentially English experience organised by the communities of Morville, Aston Eyre, Acton Round and Monkhopton for all four Churches. The Morville Festival also supports Morville CE Primary School.
Morville festival offers two days of events and activities for all ages. On Sunday indulge yourself in the tranquil, exquisitely crafted gardens surrounding Morville Hall, then take a short stroll down to St Gregory's Church, where teas and home-made cakes will be available. Monday is fete day, with traditional attractions including stalls, a children's fancy dress competition, Maypole dancing, bouncy castle and the wonderful gardens will be open again with refreshments available in the Church.

This year the festival is going back to its roots, and is following a traditional farming theme, St Gregory's will be decorated by locals, who have rechristened the village Mooville!

The fancy dress competition theme is 'The farmer' and is free and open to all children. Prizes for the winners, judged by local farmer Mr. Henry Yates.

Please browse our website and plan your visit. We look forward to seeing you.

Hidden behind the impressive exterior of Morville Hall are series of six beautiful gardens, each linked to each other but retaining it’s own character. Stroll round and lose yourself in this magical place.

This year's event will feature a display of ‘Memories of Festivals Past’ in Morville Church. The festival team are currently gathering ‘memories’ and ask those of you who remember anything about Morville's past events to please share your experiences and photographs for the project.

Some members of the community remember dressing up as Robin Hood in fancy dress as youngsters! Might there have been a time when instead of parking cars we parked horses and buggies? Was there a Morville Fair in the war years? How far back does this tradition go? If you have any memories of Morville life and past celebrations that you would like to share as part of the project, please contact Jane Gregory on or visit our Facebook page.
